What comes through

Item quantities, prices, discounts, refunds, tax and tip fields, and payment fees—where available in an approved export or future connection.

How it becomes useful

Reconcile net sales, separate taxes and tips, and link items to reviewed recipes. Sales history can inform a demand assumption; it does not establish dish cost by itself.

Exports first, connections later. Source names describe prospective compatibility, not partnerships, endorsements or available integrations. Connections would require separate seller authorization in this product; permissions from a personal assistant do not transfer.

02 / Ask it like an owner

No spreadsheet question
required.

The intended experience is a conversation: use the records you authorize, explain the assumptions and ask only for the details still missing. Select an example to explore a scripted, synthetic exchange.

Margin Kitchen / illustrative response

Let's look at profit and cash separately.

At a hypothetical $5,000 full monthly employer cost, the base example's operating profit falls from $18,000 to $13,000. Cash after the shown goals falls from $5,000 to $0, leaving no buffer under these assumptions.

Sample evidence & assumptions

Base sales scenario · Payroll assumption · Owner cash goals. Sales and all other costs stay constant; training, overlap and extra demand are not included.

What is still missing

Is $5,000 the full employer cost, and what cash buffer should stay untouched?

03 / A plan you can question

Cover the rent.
Then define “enough.”

A simplified, synthetic restaurant month. Switch the sales assumption to see the arithmetic change. This is an illustration, not a forecast or a real business benchmark.

Synthetic example · Monthly · USD

Same costs. Different month.

Net sales
$80,000
Variable cost assumption
40% of sales
Contribution rate
60%
Monthly fixed costs
$30,000
Target operating profit
$12,000

Net sales exclude sales taxes and tips and are net of refunds. Variable costs include food, packaging and payment fees. The mix and 40% rate stay constant here.

Illustrative operating profit $18,000 $80,000 sales − $32,000 variable costs − $30,000 fixed costs
Break-even sales $50,000 $30,000 ÷ 60%
Sales for the profit goal $70,000 ($30,000 + $12,000) ÷ 60%

Fixed costs include $18,000 payroll (including $4,000 owner wages), $10,000 rent and other overhead, and $2,000 depreciation. Modeled operating profit is before interest and income taxes.

Profit is not the cash in your account

Pay yourself.
Keep the categories straight.

Owner wages can be an expense. Owner draws are a separate cash movement. Transfers between your own accounts are neither new income nor a new expense.

Modeled operating profit $18,000
Add back noncash depreciation + $2,000
Debt principal / equipment purchase − $7,500
Income tax cash reserve / owner draw − $7,500
Cash after these goals $5,000

No opening cash balance shown. Assumes sales collected and operating expenses paid in the same month; no inventory or other working-capital change. Debt principal is $4,000; equipment $3,500; tax reserve $1,500; draw $6,000. The reserve is not also deducted as an expense.

04 / From receipt to next week's plan

An invoice can do more
than sit in a folder.
So can a food photo.

A proposed workflow would read supplier records, help you describe a recipe, and connect confirmed ingredient amounts to reviewed prices. An owner checks the uncertain parts before an order is drafted.

Restaurant Depot: receipt import — planned.
PDF, photo or receipt-email import is proposed. Direct connection remains under research; no public customer invoice API is confirmed. Online delivery and in-store prices may differ.

Photo-assisted recipes / Planned

Start with a picture.
Build a confirmed recipe.

A photo can suggest visible ingredients and approximate quantities. It cannot reveal every ingredient or reliably measure weight.

  1. Suggest a starting point Identify visible components and an initial quantity range. Label costs as provisional estimates.
  2. Ask about what is hidden Confirm oils, sauces, butter, seasoning, portions, batch size, yields and waste.
  3. Match confirmed amounts Link the reviewed recipe to invoice prices and pack conversions. Missing or uncertain matches stay flagged.

Draft only. Recipe portions, counted stock, forecast, yield, waste treatment, pack conversion, shelf life and supplier lead time must be confirmed. No order is transmitted.

05 / Useful answers have a paper trail

Let AI help with the reading.
Keep the reasoning inspectable.

AI can extract, match and explain. Formulas calculate. People resolve ambiguity and approve decisions. The proposed product needs all three.

A / Trace the source

“Show me where that came from.”

Each proposed exception links back to a record or invoice line. A missing pack size, unmatched item or duplicate cost stays visible until reviewed.

B / Know what is missing

Sales alone are not a dish margin.

Recipes, yields, prices and waste matter. Labor and shared overhead need explicit allocation assumptions. Missing inputs should produce a question, not a confident-looking answer.

C / Compare responsibly

Peers, not made-up benchmarks.

Future cohorts mean comparable businesses—not classes. Comparisons would need licensed or explicitly contributed, aggregated data plus rights and privacy review. Peer benchmarks are not available here.

About this preview

Local calculations and reviewed imports work here. All sample businesses and results are fictional. Reload or Start over clears your data. No account, payment, message, AI call or live integration is created.

What works now. What comes next.

  1. Now · local files. Reviewed CSV and text PDF imports, session-only month comparisons, food/labor scenarios and a loaded-cost hiring calculator. No live account is connected.
  2. Proposed next · Square sales. Read sales, refunds and location data after a future owner authorization flow. Reconcile totals and reporting dates before using them. Square’s Orders, Payments and read permissions provide a possible path; provider coverage still needs validation.
  3. Proposed later · QuickBooks Online costs. Map operating costs to the same location and period, then review missing or duplicated categories. Access, permission scope, reconciliation and ongoing provider costs need validation before launch.

A live version needs secure authorization, revocation, clear sync freshness, retries and duplicate controls. Provider testing environments do not prove a production connection. No OAuth, API request or sync runs here, and no provider fees are promised to be free.

Square APIs · Square permissions · Intuit partner program and costs

Labor assumptions

2026 federal presets were checked against IRS and SSA guidance. State unemployment, comp, benefits and fees are editable demo assumptions. Flat and itemized modes are alternatives. The weekly estimate applies caps using separate YTD taxable wages; annual scenarios repeat the current weekly cost and do not project future cap changes. No tax-compliance result or recipe-level variance is claimed.

Plans, targets & terms

Scenario savings are hypothetical; annual figures hold one month constant. Colors compare your chosen goal, not an invented industry average. Comparable industry benchmarks have not been approved.

Paid launch requires a reliable recurring loop and approved terms. The $49 continuous-subscription policy is preserved. No prepayment, trial, cutoff or later reference price has been adopted.

Supported files & privacy

Preview limits: 2 MB; up to 2,000 CSV rows or 10 PDF pages. CSV needs a date and net-sales column; total operating costs are optional. Dates: YYYY-MM-DD or US M/D/YYYY. Amounts: USD with a decimal point. One currency and one consistent reporting period per file. Invoice-only records cannot establish sales or profit; use a sales export.

PDFs need selectable text and a simple table headed “Date Net Sales” with optional “Costs”. Scans need OCR, which is not supported. Password-protected PDFs and complex layouts are unsupported. Extraction is reviewed, not assumed correct.

Files and results stay in page memory and reset on reload or Start over. Adding another month retains reviewed monthly totals in this same session until you reset. No localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB or application cookie stores them. Your original file is unchanged. Loading a hosted page sends normal page requests and connection metadata to its host; uploaded file contents are not part of those requests. Use synthetic or deidentified records. Signup and saving to an account are not live.

PRELAUNCH DRAFT · UPDATED OCTOBER 13, 2026

Draft terms

Draft for review. These proposed terms describe the intended service and are not the terms of an active paid subscription. Some features are still in development.

What this preview does now

This static preview creates local snapshots from sample data or supported CSV/text-PDF tables. Connections are explicitly simulated. There is no account creation, provider authorization, subscription, payment processing or live AI service.

Business use and authorized data

Use sample or deidentified business figures that you have permission to use. Do not enter passwords, access tokens, payment-card details, Social Security numbers, or customer/employee personal information. Keep the original records and check the parsed rows.

Your records and the intended service

You retain rights in your records. For a future hosted service, the proposed processing permission would be limited to providing the features you request. Its scope, retention and subprocessors must be finalized before that service accepts records. This preview does not transmit file contents to an application backend.

Check the output

Snapshots depend on your mappings, complete records and assumptions. They are not accounting, tax, legal or investment advice. No savings, profit improvement or accuracy of source records is promised. Sales alone do not establish profit, and operating profit is not cash available to spend.

Proposed founding offer

Founding customers would pay $49 USD/month per location while continuously subscribed. Cancellation ends the founding rate; returning customers pay the then-current price. There is no automatic three-month increase. A failed payment is not treated here as a voluntary cancellation.

No later reference price, discount, enrollment cutoff, prepaid plan or card-required trial has been adopted. Paid enrollment remains closed until a dependable recurring workflow and final terms are ready. Checkout and billing are not active.

Before paid launch

The operator's legal identity and contact, eligibility rules, payment grace periods, pause treatment, cancellation effective date, refund policy, service terms and applicable launch jurisdictions remain unresolved. No arbitration term, liability cap or no-refund rule is asserted here. These draft pages are not a substitute for legal review.

PRELAUNCH DRAFT · UPDATED OCTOBER 3, 2026

Privacy — current demo & draft

Draft for review. These proposed terms describe the intended service and are not the terms of an active paid subscription. Some features are still in development.

Current browser-only processing

The application reads a file you choose in this browser. It processes file contents, dates, amounts, selected column mappings, review confirmations and demo-provider choices to make the displayed snapshot. No email, password or account profile is requested. Use sample or deidentified records only.

Application code sends no file contents or extracted rows to a backend, AI service or provider. PDF parsing runs locally using a bundled copy of Mozilla PDF.js. It extracts text only; it does not execute PDF scripts, follow links, render attachments or perform OCR.

Memory and reset

The application keeps selected data and results in page memory. Start over or reloading clears the application's inputs and results; no localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, service worker or application cookie is used to save them. This does not delete your original file or control browser extensions, browser-managed downloads, operating-system storage or copies you create.

Hosting is separate

AWS CloudFront and S3 serve the website and its bundled assets. Normal requests necessarily disclose connection information such as IP address, requested URL, request time and browser headers to the hosting infrastructure. Local file contents are not part of these requests.

Checked October 3, 2026: the existing distribution's legacy standard-access logging is disabled, no real-time log configuration is attached, and S3 server-access logging is not enabled. Other account-level AWS security/service logging, CloudFront logging-v2 delivery configuration and retention have not been fully verified. We cannot promise that no hosting metadata is retained.

Cookies and analytics

No optional analytics or advertising tracker is enabled in this preview. See the cookie notice for the verified application behavior. No consent banner is shown because there are no optional tracking choices to enable here.

Future service — not active

Verified signup, saved dashboards, connected business accounts, billing and AI-assisted features would introduce additional data categories, purposes, vendors, storage and retention. The privacy notice, exact provider permissions and user controls must be completed before those features launch. Any future AI processing must identify the provider, data sent and relevant settings; this page makes no permanent “no AI ever” promise.

Open production questions

Operator identity/contact, privacy-request contact, retention schedules, deletion/export procedures, subprocessors beyond current AWS hosting, incident ownership and applicable regional requirements are not finalized. No SOC 2, BAA, residency guarantee or compliance certification is claimed.

PRELAUNCH DRAFT · UPDATED OCTOBER 3, 2026

Cookie notice & privacy choices

Draft for review. These proposed terms describe the intended service and are not the terms of an active paid subscription. Some features are still in development.

Current choices

No optional tracking is enabled. This preview does not set application cookies, use analytics or advertising scripts, or save file contents in browser storage. There is nothing to accept or reject, so we do not display a pretend “Accept all” banner.

Verified behavior

Browser checks cover empty document cookies, localStorage and sessionStorage during sample, CSV and PDF journeys. The source contains no IndexedDB use or service-worker registration. Website assets load from the same hosting origin. Files are read locally; no upload, OAuth or signup request is made.

These statements describe the application. AWS receives ordinary website-request metadata; its logging and unresolved retention questions are described in the privacy notice. Browser settings or extensions may have behavior outside this application's control.

If optional tracking is introduced

Before enabling any optional analytics or advertising, the product must assess applicable laws, explain each purpose/vendor, keep optional tracking off until required permission is obtained, give equally accessible accept/reject choices and allow withdrawal through privacy choices. Tracking permission must not be bundled with acceptance of subscription terms.

No tracker or consent-management vendor has been installed. This draft is not a claim that every US cookie requires consent.
